Review Author: Jay Damn good yarn. They don't sail like this any more!!!!
Review Author: Vidar Lund This video is a must for people interested in the history of the late era of cargo carrying sailing ships, or any era or any kind of people for that matter. I read Captain Johnson´s book many years ago and have been on the lookout for his film, in vain until I bought it from The Nautical Mind. I have crossed the Atlantic and the North Sea in sailing ships in atrocious weather, and this film is the real thing through and through, but even worse than I experienced. The price is a steal - but TNM is not the thief!
Review Author: Michael Rodaway I've sailed halfway around the world and throughout the Great Inland Seas on square-riggers; and have worked on many other types of ships of all sizes over the last 27 years. I've seen this great film at least 40 times in that period and never tire of it. This is the real deal! Highly recommended if you're interested in the history of old windjammers or in the era when people weren't soft and coddled by a protective over regulated safety-net society. As Capt. Irving Johnson says in the film "Safety, what's that? It would be stupid to let go"
