The British Merchant Navy of 1932

Follows ships listed in "Ships of the British Merchant Navy" published in the 1932 and traces their subsequent career. While some were scrapped or lost before or during WWII, hundreds of vessels survived, along with their crews. Immediately after the War, many of the surviving vessels were scrapped, worn out by years of hard work and limited maintenance. Others went on to give their owners many more years of service. After years of painstaking research and hours spent poring through libraries and on the internet, the authors have managed to track all but a handful of the ships in the original work.
