Tells the true sea adventures and misadventures of the Kirwin family: Patrick and Jeannane, their four children, and their Labrador retriever. In August 2000, they bought a catamaran called "Cool Breezes" and sailed for a year and a day along the eastern US seaboard, the rugged north coast of Cuba, and the many dazzling archipelagos of the Bahamas. They sent the account of their adventures back home in a series of emails, each bearing the subject line "Greetings from Cool Breezes". Those emails form the backbone of the book.
