A true story about an incredibly successful, diminutive ocean racing yacht, her adventures, her trials and tribulations. The 40-foot one-tonner designed by Kiwi Ron Holland for David Allen of Belvedere, California took the yacht-racing world by storm from her launch in January 1977. Over her 33 years on the race course "Imp" has taken many honours in many races, including the Admirals Cup, the Fastnet (she was a participant in the infamous 1979 race), SORC, the Bermuda and many more. She spawned a large family of clones and pseudo clones, all seeking a piece of her magic. None could recapture it.
