Ocean Pioneers

A uniquely presented book that tells the story of 25 yachtsmen's voyages and adventures. The chapter headings are the names of the boats they sailed in; each boat is beautifully illustrated in a cut-away drawing, or in action. Alongside the realistic illustrations there are sailing plans and measurements. Each chapter has a globe clearly showing the sailing route taken by each pioneer. In addition to the "Spray" and the "Liberdade", are lesser known gems such as "Harry Young's boat" about an Atlantic crossing by Harry Young in 1939, who built his boat, but never named it.
