PS Waverley: The First Sixty Years 
In 1947 the London & North Eastern Railway launched the most famous paddle steamer to be built, the "Waverley". Rescued from the risk of scrapping in the 1970s, "Waverley" was rebuilt and refurbished and set sail again under the auspices of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. For the past three decades she has been a familiar sight in ports far away from her Firth of Clyde base.
