The Raftsmen is the story of four Frenchmen who used adventure to fight against against the ravages of their wartime experiences. In 1956 they fashioned the raft from telephone poles, and set off aboard ‘L’Egare II’ with very little food, almost no weather protection, and only a little communication and navigation equipment. After 88 days, they landed in Great Britain, the first people to sail across the Atlantic on a raft. This book is a collaboration by filmmaker Ryan Barnett and artist and illustrator Dmitry Bondarenko.
