Boats in My Blood
by Farrell, Barrie
From the 1970s to the late 1990s, Barrie Farrell was one of the most famous and productive of BC’s boatbuilders. He was schooled and trained in traditional wooden boatbuilding methods by his father Allen. From that foundation, Barrie became a great innovator in fibreglass construction, and his fishing boats in particular were quite popular. By the time he retired, Barrie had constructed more than 300 commercial and sport fishing boats. In this autobiography, Barrie goes beyond the story of the boats he has built to the story of his life.
